Vine to Wine is one of our most popular annual events. Let our estate vineyard be your classroom this harvest season --where wine tasting, education, and relaxation are all in the syllabus!
Vine to Wine Event
Each week will feature a different varietal. Mother Nature is our guide, so the varietal will be announced the week of the event. For your planning purposes, the focus is typically on white grapes before red ones. However don’t hold us to that! Here’s how it works:
- Have a taste of wine
- Take a guided stroll through a beautifully hedged vineyard
- Have a taste of wine
- See and taste grapes in different stages of ripening
- Learn about what the winemaker looks for in the vineyard, and what prompts him/her to say “Let’s harvest this grape today!”
- Understand how brix and acidity are key to making delicious wine
- Does everyone still have a glass?
- Fermentation and Inoculation – learn what role they play
- Water anyone?
- Steel vs.Barrel Ageing – understand how this choice impacts the wine in more ways than one
After your walk, relax with a glass of delicious wine in our historic corn crib – enjoyed with a greater appreciation of how it is crafted
