Our 2014 Chardonnay is floral and expressive, with acacia, grapefruit, mango, and melon. Medium-bodied, with an invigorating stony, mineral-driven length. What was wonderful about the 2014 season was a long stretch of cool nights we had in late August and early September, which slowed down our Chardonnay ripening and allowed for some great balance in this wine – a ripe, tropical Chardonnay that retains acidity and length, with a relatively low alcohol. Additionally, we worked some oak fermented into this blend in order to lengthen the wine, and bring it a bit of nuance. This is also the first season when Shenandoah Springs was blended with a bit of Estate Vineyard #1, in hopes of fleshing the wine out and adding mouth-feel. Pair with fish cakes, salmon, creamy sauces, chese based salads and mild curries.
